Kerry compares Bush to Herbert Hoover

(Greensburg,Pa.-AP) July 31, 2004 - John Kerry is comparing President Bush to Herbert Hoover, whose presidency saw the start of the Great Depression.
Speaking in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Kerry reminded supporters that Bush has started claiming the nation is "turning the corner," a similar line to Hoover's "prosperity is just around the corner."
Kerry asked his audience if they were "turning the corner" on health care and good-paying jobs, each time getting a loud "no" in response.
Kerry and Bush are campaigning within miles of each other as they crisscross the battleground states of Pennsylvania and Ohio.
