RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Richland County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man accused of firing gunshots at security officers after he was ejected from a nightclub Sunday morning.

Deputies patrolling the area near Club Caprisoka on Parklane Road heard gunshots at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

After pulling up to the nightclub, deputies say they learned that 32-year old Douglas Boyd and four female friends had been asked to leave the club because of a fight inside.  Deputies say Boyd and the women got into a car and were preparing to leave the parking lot when he continued an argument with security officers and got out of the car.

Deputy Curtis Wilson says after security officers sprayed Boyd with pepper spray, he got back into the vehicle and fired several shots at them. Nobody was injured.

Wilson says the gun Boyd used had been reported stolen in Columbia.

Boyd was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on two counts of attempted murder.

Deputies were questioning club security, Boyd's companions and witnesses about the incident.
