LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) - A Lexington man is accused of distributing cocaine and his wife is on administrative leave from her job the Sheriff's Department as a result of his arrest.

Sheriff James Metts said officers with the county's Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested 37-year-old Charles Alton Morehouse of Lexington Monday afternoon.  He is charged with distribution of cocaine.

As part of an undercover investigation, deputies say Morehouse sold cocaine to a confidential informant in November.

Morehouse was taken to the Lexington County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.

Morehouse's wife works as Metts' administrative assistant. Investigators say they have no evidence that she knew about her husband's alleged drug dealing or was involved in it.

Sheriff Metts placed her on administrative leave with pay.
