RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Hundreds of friends, family and strangers gathered at the Village at Sandhill Sunday to pray for a 15-year-old who has been missing since August, but shortly after the event began, a storm moved into the area putting a damper on the festivities, but not on the spirits of those who are praying for the teen's safe return.

15-year-old Gabbiee Swainson disappeared from her Richland County home August 18th.

Organizers called the event "A Night of Hope for Gabbiee." Several bands were scheduled to play, prayers were offered, and Gabbiee's mother, Elvia Swainson, was scheduled to speak.

Elvia's former boyfriend, Freddie Grant, is charged with kidnapping in connection with the case.  Just last week, Sheriff Leon Lott confirmed that both Swainson's and Grant's DNA was found on a piece of duct tape found near Grant's home.

Deputies continue to search for clues in Swainson's disappearance.
