Deputies release video of suspects who shot, killed club security guard
RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Richland County Sheriff's Department has released dramatic video that captured four suspects assaulting a security guard at a local night club, before shooting and killing him late Saturday evening.
Deputies say they are looking for three men wanted in the deadly shooting a security guard at a local night club.
County Coroner Gary Watts identified the victim as 42-year-old Jimmy Moti of West Columbia.
Sheriff's deputies say Moti worked as a security guard at the El Toro Club on St. Andrews Road. Deputies say at about 11:30 Saturday night, Moti denied three men access to the club when he questioned the validity of one of their ID's.
Surveillance video from the cameras of the neighboring convenience store captured the suspects assaulting Moti, while the victim defends himself by pepper spraying two of the four suspects.
The suspects then fired multiple shots at Moti and fled the scene.
Moti was taken to Palmetto Health Richland where the coroner says he died in surgery two hours later. An autopsy conducted Sunday shows Moti died from complications of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The Richland County Sheriffs Department continues to investigate. They say the men took off in a black, older model Mercury Marquis.
