RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A second man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a night club security guard over the weekend.

Richland County sheriff's deputies originally arrested and charged 22-year-old James Kevin Bethel, Jr. with murder. Now, 19-year-old Ernest Condre Bethel has also been charged with murder in the guard's death.

James was found at the 800 block of Menlo Drive suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

According to investigators, James got into an argument with 25-year-old Gawayne A. Franklin, a security guard employed at Mr. Lucky's on Seminole Road, early Sunday morning.

Deputies say an argument that started inside the club moved outside and that's when Franklin was fatally shot. Another security guard returned fire and shot James several times.

Franklin was transported to Richland Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

James was taken to Palmetto Health Richland where his condition is not currently known.

The investigation is ongoing, but deputies are looking for two individuals who may have more information about what exactly happened inside the night club. One person was wearing a white hat, a white t-Shirt, and has dreadlocks. The second person was wearing a blue shirt and had short hair.

If you have any information about this case, you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
