Turkey truck removed, I-26 traffic moving again

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - An overturned tractor-trailer has finally been removed from the median of Interstate 26 about eight hours after it crashed northwest of Columbia.

According to the highway patrol, the turkey truck overturned on near mile marker 99 just before 4 a.m.

The accident caused headaches for thousands of commuters Monday morning.

At least one lane of the interstate was closed in both directions while emergency crews worked to remove the turkeys and the truck.

Crews were able to get the area cleaned up and traffic moving again just after 12:30 p.m.

There is no word on injuries.
