RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The Richland County Sheriff's Department Fugitive Task Force on Monday arrested a man wanted for a North Carolina murder.

A department spokesperson said 19-year-old Arnold Jerard Thomas was discovered hiding in an attic inside a home on Partridge Drive around 5:30 a.m.

Thomas was wanted for killing another man at a Charlotte apartment complex early Saturday morning.

Officers were called around 3:30 am to the Hampton Commons Apartments on Lanecrest Drive in Charlotte.

They found 21-year-old Dantonio Gerrick Hamilton lying in the parking lot. Hamilton was declared dead a few minutes later.

Witnesses said Thomas took off running right after the shooting.

Thomas was expected to be transported back to Charlotte-Mecklenburg County to face charges.
