RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol is now seeking the driver of a vehicle that may have information on what happened in a "non-contact hit and run" that left a Midlands man dead.

Troopers say the driver of a four door white Buick may have been changing lanes on Interstate 20 near the Clemson Rd. exit about 3:05 p.m. on Saturday when it caused the driver of an SUV to swerve to avoid a collision. The SUV went off the side of the highway and then overturned.

A passenger in the SUV, 54-year-old Norris R. Scott, was thrown from the vehicle and taken to Palmetto Health Richland where he died.

Troopers say the driver of the SUV, Cathy Scott, and another passenger were also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers are looking for the driver of a white Buick who may have more information about the crash.

If you know anything that can help investigators, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
