ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) - One person was killed early Sunday morning in a one car accident in Orangeburg County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Officials say the accident happened around 2:25am on Neeses Highway.

Investigators say the driver of a 1999 Nissan was driving westbound on the highway when he ran off right side of the road, overcorrected, went off left side of the road and struck a drain pipe.

The car overturned, and officials say a female passenger, identified as 38-year-old Eva Nicole Wright, was ejected from the vehicle. She was killed in the accident.

Officials say no one was wearing a seatbelt in the accident.

The Highway Patrol and MAIT continue to investigate.
