ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) - A 30-year-old Orangeburg man is recovering from injuries after being beaten by six men Tuesday morning.

According to the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office, officers were notified that a man was seeking assistance from residents at the Campus Corner Apartments after having been beaten and his car stolen.

The victim says he went out for drinks Monday night to a location on a dirt road off Mingo Street.

As he approached the residence, the suspects turned off the porch light and began assaulting him.

Deputies say they located several of the victim's personal belongings in front of a Norman Street residence including clothing and an identification badge.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says "We are working diligently to identify and locate these individuals, so they do not have the opportunity to beat up anyone else."

The victim says his wallet was stolen along with the vehicle he was driving, a white 2000 Kia Sephia.
