Man sentenced to life for '01 N. Chas. double kidnapping-killing
(Charleston-AP) Feb. 3, 2004 - An 18-year-old Charleston County man who kidnapped and killed two Hispanic men with the help of his roommate will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Circuit Judge Deadra Jefferson sentenced Eric Wigfall on Monday to two terms of life in prison without parole for his role in the shooting deaths of Artermio Vazquez Perez and Rafael Aguilar Flores in December 2001. The sentences will be served at the same time.
Wigfall was 16 at the time of the killings.
His roommate, Julian Ferguson, was sentenced to two concurrent life sentences in December.
Perez and Flores were kidnapped in their van after stopping at a North Charleston gas station. The two men were shot multiple times. Perez's body was dumped in Rosemont. Flores' body was found inside the van after it was abandoned in Charleston County.
