Four arrested for Halloween robbery at convenience store

PELION, SC (WIS) - Lexington County Sheriff's Department detectives arrested three men and one woman in connection with an armed robbery that Halloween morning at a drive through convenience store on Edmund Highway near Pelion.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said detectives arrested Cornelius Octavis Cheeseboro, 18, of West Columbia, Joshua Shakeith Grantham, 19, of Columbia, Cory Tyrell McCoy, 19, of Pelion, and Jasmine Shante Riley, 20, of Gaston. All 4 were charged with of armed robbery.

According to arrest warrants, around 9:00 a.m., Cheeseboro, Grantham, McCoy and Riley robbed two employees at gunpoint at Junior's Drive Thru at 7463 Edmund Highway, Metts said. Cheeseboro, Grantham, McCoy and Riley stole $40 in cash, $40 worth of Newport cigarettes and one cell phone during the robbery, the sheriff said.

Cheeseboro and McCoy each were being held on Wednesday, November 2 at the Lexington County Detention Center on a $150,000 surety bond, Metts said. Grantham and Riley were being held on Wednesday at the county Detention Center while awaiting bond hearings.
