Passenger killed in two-car collision
CALHOUN COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A 48-year-old man died after the 1996 GMC pickup he was riding in collided with a 1996 Freightliner, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Scott Lee Powell was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner said he died from multi-blunt force trauma. Powell was sitting in the right seat of the pickup, according to troopers, when the accident took place.
They reported that the pickup was traveling west on Secondary 221 and the Freightliner was going south on SC 267 when both vehicles collided.
The 37-year-old driver of the pickup and a 30-year-old middle seat passenger were both taken to Regional Medical Center. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The patrol's MAIT team was called in to investigate the crash.
