COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - An elderly driver was ejected from their car in a traffic accident at the intersection of Taylor and Gadsden streets, according to Columbia police.
CPD spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons said two cars were traveling west on Taylor Street when one tried to turn left in front of the other. Timmons said the cars collided, and one of the drivers was ejected from their vehicle.
Timmons said the injured driver did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt. Richland County EMS spokesman George Rice said the driver was taken to the hospital with injuries that "appear to be significant," but couldn't provide an exact condition.
Officers on the scene said both drivers are elderly. There's no word on the condition of the second driver.
