SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - A woman from Advance, NC and her boyfriend were charged on citation Wednesday morning for trying arrange a "sex for gas money" deal at a local truck stop.

According to the sheriff's report, someone from the Wilco Hess truck stop on Peeler Road called the sheriff's office to tell them that a woman was soliciting sex in the parking lot.

When deputies arrived, they pulled over a car that was driving on Lane Parkway near the truck stop.  Deputies were suspicious of the car since it was around 2:30 in the morning and there are no homes or open businesses on Lane Parkway at that time.

Deputies questioned the driver, William Boger, 31, about what he was doing.  After some questioning, Boger told them that he had dropped off his girlfriend, Christoper "Christy" Mae Riddle, 33, so that she could meet someone to exchange sexual favors for enough money to buy gas to get back to their home in Advance.

Boger told deputies that the couple had been in Charlotte looking for work, and that they had been robbed of their cash and credit cards and were running low on gas on the trip back home to Advance.

Deputies then searched for Riddle, who was found a short time later on Interstate 85 under the Peeler Road bridge.

After some questioning Riddle told deputies that she was meeting a friend, "a trucker named John," for sex.  She told deputies she had met the same man a week earlier for a similar transaction.

Riddle and Boger were both charged; Riddle for loitering for prostitution, Boger for loitering to aid an abet prostitution.  Both were released on criminal citations.

Authorities say Riddle lived in Rowan County at one time.  She had an address on Enon Church Road.  She did have some past criminal charges, including failure to appear and probation violation.
