Authorities believe Charlotte teen fell from airplane in "major breach of security"

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A Massachusetts prosecutor says it's likely that a North Carolina teen whose mutilated body was found in a Boston suburb fell from the sky after stowing away in an airplane wheel well.

Norfolk District Attorney William Keating says police searched the area Friday in Milton where 16-year-old Delvonte Tisdale was found last month, and they found sneakers and a shirt matching clothing his family said he'd worn.

He said the items were found along a path a Boston-bound plane would have taken while approaching the city.

Keating said authorities believe Tisdale hid in the airplane, in what Keating called "a major breach of airport security."

"Charlotte Douglas Airport Officials have not been in contact with investigators in Massachusetts during the Tisdale investigation," said Haley Gentry, the Public Affairs Manager at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.

"We now expect that the information released today will trigger a local investigation involving Charlotte Douglas, the TSA and the FAA."

Gentry refused an interview but said he would expect the airport officials to make a comment about the new details as soon as Monday.

Tisdale's body was found on Nov. 15, less than 24 hours after he was last seen in Charlotte.
