The South Carolina Highway Patrol says an unknown vehicle was traveling north on US-321 toward Crane Church Rd around 2:30 a.m. and killed a pedestrian. According to officials, the suspect left the scene.
A student of Gilbert High School has been charged after making threats Thursday about wearing a trench coat and “shooting up” other elementary schools and middle schools in Lexington County, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
The student with the knife was charged with having a weapon on school grounds, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, and the other student was charged with larceny after refusing to hand over the money.
So far this year, 64 people have reported that someone had filed their taxes for them, making tax fraud the top reported way that consumers had their identities stolen in the state, according to the SC Dept. of Consumer Affairs.
According to South Carolina Solicitor of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, S.R. Hubbard III, Shantrez Alejandro Robertson, 26, and Donovan Tirrell Brannon, 33, were each convicted of one count of murder and one count of attempted murder for the shooting death of William Tyrone Gantt, and for injuring another victim.
When the suspects entered the store, deputies say the two men walked behind the desk, and one held his hand over the clerk’s mouth. Investigators say the other man stole cash from the register and the clerk’s purse. The men then exited on foot by the back door, according to deputies.
Attorneys for Alex Murdaugh want a judge to stop a lawyer suing him from publicly speaking about the massive legal entanglement Murdaugh finds himself in and recommend a panel that disciplines attorneys look into the matter.
