Tim Miller is an Emmy award winning reporter and anchor for WTOL 11 and Fox 36. Tim anchors the morning news with Melissa Andrews from 4:30 to 7 a.m. on WTOL 11 and from 7 to 9 a.m. on Fox 36 and has been a dedicated member of the WTOL team since January 2007.
In 2017, Tim’s live reports from the White House on Medal of Honor winner Edward Byers, Jr. helped the team earn a regional Emmy award for Best Evening Newscast. He is also part of the team that was nominated for an Emmy for coverage of the November 2016 presidential election.
Tim has also been recognized by the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors for his 2009 report on tainted heparin that killed members of a family and was runner up in the Best Reporter category in 2013. Tim has previously worked as a reporter and anchor at WJET-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania and WATE 6 in Knoxville, Tennessee and has completed internships at KDKA-TV and WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh. In his career, Tim has covered the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi, the deadly protests in Charlottesville, VA in 2017, and tragic school shootings in Edinboro, PA and Jacksboro, TN. Tim loves politics and has extensively reported in presidential campaigns since 1996, including on-location live reports from the visits by 2016 rivals Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Tim is thrilled to be an ambassador for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and is very active in the St. Jude Dream Home giveaway that raises money for the children and families being served by the hospital. The project is done with the hard work of a local builder and provides a brand new home for a lucky contestant! Over the years, Tim has also volunteered his time as an emcee for several local events and organizations and is always excited to lend a hand for any group that needs it.
Tim is happily married to his wife of 16 years, Kelly. In addition to being an amazing wife and mother, she also works as a recruiter for Owens Corning, headquartered in Toledo. They have a daughter and son and a fun-loving lab/shepherd named Bailey. Tim enjoys watching his daughter’s gymnastics and show choir competitions and his son’s baseball and basketball games and is very active as a member of his church’s council.
A native of Greensburg, PA, near Pittsburgh, don’t be surprised to see Tim sporting black and gold for his favorite teams—the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. He has also been an Ohio State Buckeye fan for many years and loves hitting the many local tennis courts around Toledo.
