Hayley Spitler

Hayley Spitler is an anchor, reporter and producer for FOX Carolina. She joined the team in August 2022.

Before making the move south, she spent three years in Western Wisconsin. At WEAU, Hayley started as the station's bureau reporter and ended as an evening anchor. In addition, to anchoring the 9 and 10pm newscasts, Hayley would also report on feature stories and any breaking news.

She was raised in Chicago and graduated from Loyola University Chicago in May of 2019 with a degree in multimedia journalism. As a junior, she had the opportunity to travel and cover the Ramblers' run to the Final Four in 2018.

In her free time, Hayley loves going to concerts, traveling, playing with her puppy Zobrist (Go Cubs Go!), spending time with friends and family, watching Grey’s Anatomy and anything and everything on Bravo.

The Fun Stuff

On the weekends, I love to spend time with my dog as well as explore new areas and find new restaurants to enjoy.

My favorite movie is either The Greatest Showman or The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

My favorite kind of music is pop music! I absolutely love Katy Perry, Ellie Goulding, The Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber and of course One Direction.

Hidden talents? I know a ridiculous number of Pi digits. It's a talent that pretty much only comes in handy on March 14th.

Pets? Yes! I adopted my pup Zobrist during the pandemic. He is a black lab/ beagle mix named after Ben Zobrist, the Cubs World Series MVP. He's the best!

Most Memorable Story You Have Covered?

The most memorable story that I have covered is 'Anthony's Legacy'. Anthony was a 19-year-old boy who was shot and killed while serving as a door host at a La Crosse, Wisconsin bar. Six months after his death, I had the chance to speak with Anthony's father and one of his former Wis Corps leaders. They shared stories of who Anthony was, what he enjoyed doing and how much he gave back to his community. His father, Gus, also explained how Anthony donated his organs saving the lives of people all over the country. It was a way to find light in the darkness and remember who Anthony was and ensure his legacy will continue.
