12-year-old boy, teen girl identified as victims in Walmart parking lot shooting, report says
WINNSBORO, S.C. (WIS) - An incident report revealed two minors were victims of a weekend shooting that happened following a high school football game.
The shooting happened at around 11 p.m. on Saturday at a Walmart parking lot, just across the street from Fairfield Central High School.
Officials said the area was used as overflow parking for the football game directly across the street.
According to an incident report from the Winnsboro Department of Public Safety, a 12-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were shot and taken to the hospital.

The report states the 16-year-old was shot in the mouth. The 12-year-old had to be given a tourniquet on the arm and leg, according to the report.
Both minors were taken to the hospital by a private car.
During the investigation, officials found shell casings on the scene.
Officials said the incident seems to have begun as an argument between two rival groups, who were at the Fairfield Central High School Homecoming football game.
A caller whose name was redacted from the report told officials “Three boys wearing all black or navy blue hoodies and jeans were carrying handguns and yelling at bystanders behind building 4.”
According to the report, deputies have one suspect in custody. They found a total of three firearms and several shell casings, which will be sent to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division for processing, the report stated.
Investigators from the Winnsboro Department of Public Safety and the Fairfield Sheriff’s Office will continue to follow up with interviews and collect other evidence.
