IRMO, S.C. (WIS) - As early voters get ready to cast their ballots, people in the town of Irmo will only have four candidates to choose from.

George Frazier is no longer eligible to run for Irmo Town Council despite his name remaining on the ballot.

WIS reported Monday that Frazier was ineligible to run. The reason behind this stems from the fact that Frazier recently moved to Lexington County from Richland.

Frazier didn’t report this information within 30 days before the election. Election officials tell WIS it takes at least 45 days prior to an election to remove a name from a ballot.

While his name remains on the ballot, the Lexington County Election’s Office has posted a sign on their front door to let early voters know any ballot cast for Frazier will not be counted.

The four remaining council candidates, Jeff Allen, Phyllis Coleman, Gabriel Penfield, and Erik Sickniger expressed how this sign shouldn’t be the only way early voters are informed of Frazier’s eligibility.
