LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD) arrested a suspect accused of fatally shooting a man while he was asleep.

Deputies said during their investigation, detectives determined that 25-year-old Dez’Mond Keon Miller entered a home in the 2000 block of Capitol View Drive and shot the man.

“A witness in the home recognized Miller and called 911,” said Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon.

According to arrest warrants, Miller is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.

Deputies said Miller turned himself in at LCSD headquarters Saturday afternoon.

“There were other witnesses in the home who are unharmed,” Koon said. “Investigators believe Miller knew the victim.”
