Lexington County Coroner identifies woman killed in shooting
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified a woman who was shot and killed in front of a home in the 600 Block of Pine Grove Road.
Fisher said 55-year-old Emily Renee Zeigler was shot and killed Wednesday after 2 p.m. in the Leesville area of Lexington County.
Zeigler was pronounced dead at the scene by deputies due to a gunshot wound to the upper body, Fisher stated.
Fisher said an acquaintance of Zeigler was also shot and transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office said the investigation is still ongoing.

Deputies said a woman was shot to death in front of a home in the 600 block of Pine Grove Road on Wednesday morning.
According to LCSD, a man was also shot and taken to the hospital where he continues to receive treatment.

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident between people who were connected in some way.
In a post on Twitter, LCSD wrote, “Investigators believe this was an isolated incident between people who were connected in some way.”
Meanwhile, LCSD told WIS they do not believe the man and woman were shooting at each other.
