COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Heads up! Saturday is a First Alert Weather Day for gusty winds and rain.

• Tonight will be cool with temperatures in the mid 50s.
• Dry air sits over the region Thursday with highs in the low 80s.
• Friday is cloudy with highs in the low 70s, there’s a chance of rain by the late evening hours.
• A low pressure system moves onshore and brings a 70% chance of rain Saturday and a 60% chance Sunday.
• The wind and rain will be highest and heaviest Saturday making it a First Alert Weather Day.
• Sunday looks wet as well with less wind, the chance of rain is 60%.
• Memorial Day has a 40% chance of rain in the morning then some clearing by the afternoon.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER SUMMARY

Skies are partly cloudy tonight with low temperatures in the mid 50s. Dry air is in place making for a pleasant night.

Thursday will be partly cloudy, just a few more clouds by the afternoon. The northeast flow continues from a high pressure system to the north. Highs are in the low 80s.

Friday morning we have upper 50s and cooler air over the region along with cloudy skies. High temps are in the low 70s. A low pressure system off the coast of SC and GA is approaching and is what’s bringing our rain.

Saturday is a First Alert Weather Day for heavy rain at times and gusty winds at 30 to 35mph. The low pressure system arrives from the west and pushes over SC throughout the day. It’s a slow mover that will continue to bring some rain chances for Sunday. Another big story is the temperature. Highs are in the low 60s, a cool, blustery, dreary day. Rainfall amounts look to be around 0.5-1″ with some higher totals that could reach up to 2″.

Sunday morning is in the mid 50s with highs reaching the low 70s. Chances of rain are around 60% as the low moves into North Carolina.

Memorial Day we see showers in the morning with a 40% chance. By the afternoon we have partly cloudy skies and the best weather all weekend. High temperatures are in the upper 70s.

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies with lows in the mid 50s.

Thursday: Partly cloudy skies with highs around 80 degrees.

Friday: More clouds are back to the region with highs in the low 70s.

First Alert Weather Day Saturday: Rain and heavy rain possible with winds gusting up to 35mph and high temps only reaching 61. Chance of rain is 70%.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a 60% chance of showers throughout the day an less wind. Temps top off in the low 70s.

Memorial Day: 40% chance of some morning showers lingering. Then partly cloudy by the afternoon with highs in the upper 70s.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of an afternoon shower. Highs are in the low 80s.
