FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Cloudy & cool this week, few shower chances too

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Plenty of cloud coverage and temps remain cool this week, way cooler than average.

FIRST ALERT HEADLINES

• Tuesday and Wednesday have plenty of clouds and temps and temps are cool.
• There’s a 20% chance of showers for both Tuesday and Wednesday.
• Thursday and Friday we are dry with upper to mid 70s.
• There’s a 30%-20% chance of showers for this weekend with temperatures remaining to be on the cool side.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER SUMMARY

Skies are mostly cloudy tonight with low temperatures in the low 60s. There’s a stalled boundary to our south that will bring cloud coverage to the region.

Tuesday will be cooler than average with highs in the upper 70s and there’s plenty of clouds. There’s a weak low pressures system aloft that will spin over the region causing our weather to be more cloudy and cool. We are also looking at a 20% chance of showers, especially in the afternoon.

Wednesday is very similar with low temps in the low 60s and a 20% chance of showers in the morning. We start with clouds throughout the morning and we see some clearing by the afternoon with highs in the upper 70s.

We remain cooler than average Thursday and Friday. A large trough sticks around in the jet stream and keeps temps cool. Expect partly cloudy skies with highs in the upper to mid 70s.

This weekend look a little unsettled with a 30-20% chance of showers. Saturday, in particular, looks to be way colder than average. Highs are in the low 70s Saturday with a 30% chance of rain, Sunday is in the upper 70s with a 20% chance. A coastal low is close to the region bringing clouds and the chance of rain.

Thursday: Upper 70s with partly cloudy skies.

Friday: Sun and clouds with lows in the upper 50s and highs in the mid 70s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a few showers and storms. Chance of rain is 30% and highs only reach the low 70s.

Sunday: Partly cloudy with a 30% chance of showers, highs are in the upper 70s.
