FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Cooling off tonight, then watching rain for the weekend
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Temperatures tonight will drop into the mid 40s, we stay dry Thursday but moisture returns just in time for the weekend.
FIRST ALERT HEADLINES
- A Lake Wind Advisory stays in effect until today at 6 pm, gusts will be near 30 mph.
- We see temps drop tonight, into the mid 40s.
- Mid 70s with sunny skies Thursday, simply a beautiful day!
- Clouds build Friday with mostly cloudy skies and mid to upper 70s for high temps.
- Saturday we see a 50% chance of rain showers with highs in the low 70s.
- Showers linger into Sunday morning, with a 30% chance.

Skies are sunny Thursday with mid 70s and high pressure dominating our weather from the west. It’s a gorgeous day as the wind is not a factor for the afternoon and dry air stays in place.

A warm front approaches from the southwest Friday. We have clouds building into the region from the south as the front arrives. In the upper levels the jet stream is in more of a ridge formation, even though it lingers just to our north, we’re not seeing a large trough as we have the last several days. Lows are in the upper 40s and highs reach the upper 70s. There’s a 20% chance of a shower or two for the day.

Saturday we have the front move in and stall over the region. This increases our chances of rain to 50%. Morning lows are in the upper 50s and highs reach the low 70s. With the rain chances going up we see the temperatures a little cooler.

Warmer air pushes in from the south Sunday. We see temps warm up with lows near 60 and highs reaching the low 80s. There’s a 30% chance of a few showers, especially in the early morning hours.

Highs reach the mid 80s Monday as warmer air filters in. There’s a 20% chance of showers. Morning lows are in the low 60s.

Thursday: Sunny skies with highs back to the mid-70s. Winds are finally weaker!
Friday: Increasing clouds into the day with a shower possible into the evening (20%). Highs to the upper 70s.
Saturday: Rain showers with a 50% chance of rain. Highs in the low 70s.
Sunday: Limited sun peeking through clouds with highs in the upper 70s. There’s a 30% chance of a morning shower or two.
Monday: Warming into the mid 80s with a 20% chance of showers.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy and hot with highs in the upper 80s. There’s a 30% chance of showers and storms.
