CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Medical University of South Carolina’s Public Safety Department has given the all-clear after investigating multiple reports of shots fired Tuesday morning.

Public Safety officials responded to the K lot behind the Ashley River Tower and MUSC spokesperson Heather Woolwine says it appears the incident was isolated to the area.

Spokesperson Carter Coyle said the garage has reopened as of just after 2 p.m.

Law enforcement worked with witnesses and was examining surveillance video, Woolwine said.

Officials say the incident was isolated to the first floor of the McClennan Banks garage and there is no threat to campus.

No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information on the shots fired is asked to call MUSC Public Safety at 843-792-4196.
