FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Warm temps and sunshine, then some wet weather Saturday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Temperatures are warming up nicely for the next 3 days, then a cold front brings rain and thunder for Saturday.

FIRST ALERT HEADLINES.

• Tonight is down to 52 with clear skies.
• Upper 80s Wednesday with more sunshine as high pressure rules our weather.
• We continue with upper 80s Thursday with more sunshine.
• Friday has a few more clouds with mid 80s.
• Expect scattered showers to return Saturday with a few storms possible, right now chances are around 60%.
• Sunday looks cooler and drier with upper 40s for lows and highs in the upper 60s.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER SUMMARY

Skies are clear tonight with lows in the low 50s, not quite as cold as it was this morning.

High pressure is over the region. That causes sinking air and sunny skies for your Wednesday. Highs reach the upper 80s.

Thursday we have mid 50s and highs reach the upper 80s. Skies are sunny as the high slides to our east and southwestern flow continues.

Mid 80s for Friday with partly cloudy skies, lows are in the upper 50s. A little more moisture as the flow comes a little more out of the Gulf of Mexico.

Saturday a cold front approaches from the west and brings a 60% chance of rain and storms. As of now the rain looks to be in the afternoon into the evening hours. Low temps are in the low 60s and highs reach the mid 70s.

Behind the front our temps drop into the upper 60s. Skies are sunny and low reach the upper 40s Sunday.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with highs to the upper mid-80s.

Thursday: Sunny skies with lows in the mid 50s and highs near 88.

Friday: Partly cloudy with highs in the upper mid-80s.

Saturday: Peeks of sunshine with scattered showers and a few storms possible. Chance of rain is 60%. Highs around 76.

Sunday: Cooler and breezy. Lows are in the upper 40s and highs reach the upper 60s.

Monday: Chilly morning with lows near 42, highs reach the upper 60s.
