COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The rain is on the way, it arrives Friday and can be heavy at times for Saturday making it a First Alert Weather Day.

  • We’re in for a warm night tonight with lows in the mid 60s with a few showers possible.
  • Friday a cold front brings a 70% chance of showers and a few thunderstorms as well.
  • Saturday will be a FIRST ALERT Weather Day because of heavy rain and chilly temps, highs are in the upper 40s.
  • We see a few showers early Easter morning then cloudy skies and cool temps in the upper 50s.
  • Temps drop for Monday morning with lows near 41.
  • Highs reach the mid 60s for the afternoon with partly cloudy skies.

A cold front approaches from the northwest and brings a 70% chance of rain for Friday. Expect a few downpours and some storms as well. Around 0.25-0.75″ is possible.

The front stalls Saturday bringing rain and the potential for heavy rain as well. A high pressure system to our north brings really cold air to the region. Highs reach the upper 40s! Brrrr. Because of the cold heavy rain that could amount to an additional 1-2.5″ of rain we have a Frist Alert Weather Day in effect.

Easter Sunday will have a few early morning showers, but just a 20% chance of rain. Temps will be chilly. Lows are in the low 40s and highs reach the upper 50s. Expect a cloudy day.

Monday morning is rather cold with lows near 41. Highs reach the mid 60s with partly cloudy skies as high pressure builds over the region.

Tuesday we have mostly sunny skies with low 40s in the morning and highs reaching the low 70s. A nice gradual warm up is expected for next week.

Tonight: Cloudy skies with a 20% chance of showers, lows are in the mid 60s.

Friday: 70% chance of some scattered showers, with cooler highs in the middle 70s.

FIRST ALERT Weather Day Saturday: Cold and wet throughout the day with rain potential of 1-3″. Highs only top out around 49 degrees.

Easter Sunday: Early morning showers then cloudy and cool. Highs work back to near 59 degrees.

Monday: Partly cloudy skies with a few stray showers. Highs increase to the mid-60s.

Tuesday: Good deal of sun with milder highs in the low 70s.

Wednesday: Upper 40s Wednesday and highs reaching the low 70s.
