FIRST ALERT SUMMARY
We have a mild night tonight with lows in the upper 60s and mostly cloudy skies.
A cold front is approaching from the west, and this front will bring clouds with it. Ahead of the front we have southern flow that will warm us into the mid 80s Thursday. There’s a 20% chance of showers throughout the afternoon.
Friday the front moves through and then stalls. This brings a 70% chance of showers, mainly to the north of Columbia for most of the day and then some rain moves to the south by the evening hours. Lows are still mild with lows in the mid 60s and highs reach the low 70s.
Saturday morning we have upper 40s in the morning and colder air is moving in as a high pressure system to our north pushes more cold air into the region. There’s a 90% chance of rain showers and high temps only reach the low 50s! It’s called a “wedge” when cold air dams up against the mountains causing uplift and cloudy skies, this time we’ve got the stationary boundary bringing the rain!
Easter Sunday has a 60% chance of rain in the morning then skies start to clear up by the afternoon and evening. Morning lows are in the mid 40s and highs reach the low 60s. The rain will move out by the afternoon and evening. Our stalled front finally loses its control of the region.
We dry up a bit Monday with lows in the mid 40s and highs reach the mid 60s. There’s a 20% chance of showers.
