COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Mid 80s for tomorrow with mostly cloudy skies and a 20% chance of showers, then a major cool down for this weekend with better chances of rain.

  • Warm again for Thursday with more cloud coverage, highs are in the mid 80s.
  • Friday we have a 70% chance of showers and temps drop into the upper 60s to low 70s.

A cold front is approaching from the west, and this front will bring clouds with it. Ahead of the front we have southern flow that will warm us into the mid 80s Thursday. There’s a 20% chance of showers throughout the afternoon.

Friday the front moves through and then stalls. This brings a 70% chance of showers, mainly to the north of Columbia for most of the day and then some rain moves to the south by the evening hours. Lows are still mild with lows in the mid 60s and highs reach the low 70s.

Saturday morning we have upper 40s in the morning and colder air is moving in as a high pressure system to our north pushes more cold air into the region. There’s a 90% chance of rain showers and high temps only reach the low 50s! It’s called a “wedge” when cold air dams up against the mountains causing uplift and cloudy skies, this time we’ve got the stationary boundary bringing the rain!

Easter Sunday has a 60% chance of rain in the morning then skies start to clear up by the afternoon and evening. Morning lows are in the mid 40s and highs reach the low 60s. The rain will move out by the afternoon and evening. Our stalled front finally loses its control of the region.

Tonight: Mild with highs in the upper 60s with mostly cloudy skies.

Thursday: Warm again with highs in the mid-80s, as some spotty showers and storms are possible during the afternoon and evening, 20% chance.

Friday: Consistent scattered showers continue on with cooler highs in the upper 60s to near 70 with a 70% chance of showers.

Saturday: Cold and wet throughout the day with lows in the upper mid-40s, as p.m. highs only reach the low 50s. (90% chance of rain.)

Easter Sunday: Morning showers Sunday with a 60% chance of some light rain. Temps remain cool with lows in the mid 40s and highs near 60.

Monday: Low 50s in the morning and highs reaching the 70 with a 20% chance of showers.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy with lows in the mid 40s and highs in the mid 60s.
