Kershaw County deputies investigating shooting after one person is deceased, another in critical condition

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting after one person is left dead and another is in critical condition.

The shooting took place at Wateree Grove Lane in Bethune on March 29, 2023.

The victim of the shooting was identified by Coroner David West as 20-year-old Jordan Privette.

An autopsy for Privette is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on March 31, 2023.

The other victim whose name has not been released remains in critical condition.

KCSO investigators, KC Coroner’s office, and SLED crime scene are investigating the incident.

“This is still an active investigation. We will release more information as it becomes available. Our intent is to release facts, not assumptions. Please be patient as facts do not always come quickly,” said Sheriff Lee Boan.
