FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Few showers for Tuesday then cooler temps move in Wednesday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - There’s a 20% chance of showers tonight, and then another chance comes in for Tuesday afternoon.

FIRST ALERT HEADLINES

• Tonight is breezy with lows in the mid 50s, there’s a 20% chance of showers.
• Low 70 for Tuesday afternoon with mostly cloudy skies and a 20% chance of an isolated shower especially in the evening.
• We cool off a bit Wednesday with lows in the mid to upper 40s with highs in the mid 60s.
• Lows are in the low 40s Thursday morning, but high temps rebound into the low 70s.
• Low 80s for Friday with partly cloudy skies.
• Our next chance of showers moves in Saturday with a 40% shot as a cold front nears.

FIRST ALERT SUMMARY

Skies are partly cloudy with lows in the mid 50s tonight. Winds will be on the breezy side with winds around 10-20mph.

The stalled front slides south a bit Tuesday. Highs are in the low 70s with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. We see a northeast flow by the evening that brings a 20% chance of an isolated shower as cold air pushes in with the northern flow.

The chilly air arrives for Wednesday. Lows are in the upper 40s and highs reach the mid 60s by the afternoon. Skies are partly cloudy.

Our coolest air comes Thursday morning with lows down into the low 40s. High pressure builds over the region and stays with us. Highs reach the low 70s by the afternoon.

Friday morning we are in the upper 40s and highs reach the low 80s with partly cloudy skies expected. Southern flow warms us up a bit.

Saturday we have lows in the mid 60s and highs reach the upper 70s. There’s a 40% chance of showers and even some storms as a cold front nears from the west.

Tonight: Skies begin to clear, but we still expect a 20% chance of showers. Lows are in the mid 50s.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy to partly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers in the evening hours. Highs are in the low 70s.

Wednesday: Cooler, lows in the upper 40s and highs reach the mid 60s with partly cloudy skies.

Thursday: Chilly in the morning with lows in the low 40s and highs reach the low 70s.

Friday: Upper 40s in the morning and highs surge into the low 80s with partly cloudy skies.

Saturday: Lows are in the mid 60s and we see a 40% chance of showers and storms. Highs climb into the upper 70s.
