COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - FIRST ALERT Weather Days for Wednesday and Thursday for temps dropping below freezing.

FIRST ALERT HEADLINES
- Temperatures are cold tonight with lows in the low 30s to upper 20s.
- A freeze warning is in effect for Wednesday morning until 10am for the entire Midlands.
- A freeze watch is in effect for Thursday for temperatures that could be below freezing.
- Temperatures increase for Thursday afternoon, up to 70 with mostly sunny skies.
- We warm up into the mid 70s Friday with a good chance of rain for the late afternoon/evening hours.
- Rain chance is around 90% overnight into Saturday morning.
- Saturday will be a bit cooler as a cold front passes through the region. Lows are near 53 and highs reach the low 60s.
- We see a 60% chance of rain for Saturday morning.

Temps are a little warmer for Wednesday with highs in the low 60s. Skies are sunny as high pressure continues to control the weather.
We have another First Alert Weather Day for Thursday as the high pressure system sits over the Carolinas and Georgia. This keeps winds calm and cold air in the lower levels of the atmosphere bringing temps to below freeing. The National Weather Service has issued freeze watch for Thursday morning for the potential of severe weather.

Friday we have clouds building from the south and west. With that southwest flow we have temps rise into the mid 70s. Morning lows are in the upper 40s and highs reach the mid 70s by the afternoon. A cold front approaches from the west in the evening and we see our chances of rain go up to 40%.

Then chance of rain increases to 90% overnight into Saturday morning. Right now it looks to be around 0.25-0.5″ of rain. Lows are in the low 50s.

Saturday has a 60% chance of some lingering morning showers. Then skies clear out and temps cool off. Highs are in the low 60s. So it looks ok, but cool for the evening festivities in 5 Points for St. Paddy’s day.

Sunday is much cooler as the front brings in the colder air from the northwest. Lows are in the mid 30s and highs reach the mid 50s.

FIRST ALERT Weather Day Wednesday (Morning): Morning lows will likely be around 30 degrees or below, with sunshine warming afternoon temps back to the low 60s.
FIRST ALERT Weather Day Thursday (Morning): A chilly start with low and mid 30s, but highs rebound to near 70 for the afternoon with mostly sunny skies!
St. Patrick’s Day: Milder with increasing clouds as showers look to push in late into the day (40% chance). Highs in the mid-70s.
Saturday: Some lingering morning showers (60%) with lows in the 50s. Highs are in the low 60s with afternoon clouds decreasing.
Sunday: Sunshine follows another chilly start with highs only in the upper 50s and morning lows in the mid 30s.
Monday: Cold start with mid 30s and highs in the mid to upper 50s.
