COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The first week of the Alex Murdaugh trial came to a close on Friday. Court resumed at 9:30 a.m. and WIS live-streamed throughout the day.

He said at around the time of the murders he took a nap and then went to visit his mother with Alzheimer’s. Rutledge said the timing of the visit seemed odd to her.
He described checking the pulse of both Maggie and Paul. Prosecutors argued that he should have blood on him if he had checked the victims. Rutledge testified that Murdaugh was clean when she interviewed him.
Court went into recess at around 1:00 p.m. and will return at 2:20 p.m.
