COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The Richland County Sheriff’s Department made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that happened Sunday.

Byron Lewie, 28, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The shooting happened at the CK Mart on Broad River Road. Deputies say around 5 p.m., they found a victim at the scene dead with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford identified the victim as Savion J. Fonville, 23, of Moore.

The investigation revealed that the shooting happened after an argument between Fonville and Lewie.

Lewie was booked into Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
