Deputies release photos of suspect, new details in Parklane Road shooting
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a shooting that happened on Parklane Road.
The incident happened at the BP station at 7301 Parklane Road on June 29 just before 1 p.m., according to deputies.
On arrival, deputies found the victim inside a vehicle with a gunshot to his upper body. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
An investigation revealed that before the shooting, the victim picked up a man at the Obama gas station on North Main Street to give him a ride. The man was captured on surveillance video inside the store before he left with the victim.
Deputies say the victim drove the suspect to Parkview Drive where he claimed he lived. That’s when the suspect demanded the victim’s car and shot him when he refused. The suspect then ran from the scene.
The victim was able to drive to the BP Station on Parklane Road.
