Lower Richland High School student charged with bringing gun to school
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A student of Lower Richland High School has been charged after bringing a gun to school.
According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, a 16-year-old was found in possession of an unloaded handgun on school property.
An anonymous tip was made to the school resource officer, and the handgun was reported stolen out of Richland County, officials say.
The student is charged with possession of a stolen weapon, possession of a weapon on school grounds, and simple possession of marijuana.
The 16-year-old was booked into the juvenile wing of Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
