President Biden departs SC after SC State University commencement speech

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - President Joe Biden arrived in South Carolina Friday morning to attend South Carolina State University’s commencement ceremony.

President Biden stepped off the plane and was greeted by Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin and Congressmen Jim Clyburn.

Biden shook hands and spoke to some of the crowd that was gathered at Columbia Metropolitan Airport. He then got in part of the motorcade with Clyburn and headed to South Carolina State University in Orangeburg.

The president sat beside Clyburn at the graduation ceremony where Clyburn was finally able to walk across the stage.

President Biden was presented with an honorary doctoral degree and dubbed President “Bulldog” Biden.

After graduation, Biden headed back to West Columbia for Columbia Metropolitan Airport.
