Wet roads, congestion stall traffic on Midlands roads

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - As the rain continues to bear down on the Midlands, roads are becoming wet and hazardous for drivers.

Several crashes have been reported by the SC Dept. of Transportation as well as the SC Highway Patrol.

If you plan on heading out this morning, check your expected drive times and look out for traffic updates from officials. Be cautious of road conditions as you head to your destination.

A crash on I-26 West at Exit 106 (Saint Andrews Road) has closed the right lane, according to SCDOT.

Another crash was reported on I-20 West near Exit 63 (Bush River Road).

One mile west of Exit 61 (US 378) on I-20 East, a crash has closed the left lane.

The Dept. of Transportation is reporting a 16 mph average speed on I-20 between Exit 80 (Clemson Road) and Exit 76 (I-77).

A crash on I-20 West, 2 miles west of Exit 80 (Clemson Road) a crash has resulted in the right lane being closed. Expect delays if you are headed in that direction.
