COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - In today’s Talkin’ Trash Tuesday - grants to prevent litter. But first a shoutout!

Applause goes to Mayor Cindy Campbell and several of her volunteers in South Congaree - including some council members, an officer, and others who just wanted to help. Together, they recently picked up enough litter in the Lexington County town to fill 30 bags. Efforts like this deserve a Talkin’ Trash Tuesday shoutout. Thank you, Mayor Campbell and crew.

Now to today’s focus on grants to prevent litter. Did you know you can apply for the money? Do you know how to? Sarah Lyles is the executive director of Palmetto Pride. Also with Palmetto Pride is Mallory Coffey who is the Keep South Carolina Beautiful state leader. They joined WIS TV Midday to explain the variety of grants available in South Carolina.

There’s even a webinar series coming up that will help you know all about the different grants. The Palmetto Pride webinar series begins Wednesday, Dec. 15th. There are six parts to the series. The first is called “The Point” and is from 11 a.m. to noon. It’s free. Just register ahead of time at
