SC hate crime bill passes another hurdle
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC) - A bill to establish a hate crimes law in South Carolina is one step closer to reality.
The South Carolina House Democratic Caucus says the bill passed the state Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday afternoon.
Record show the bill already has the green light from the House and it will head to the full Senate floor.
South Carolina is one of only three states without a hate crime law.
