HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Police have taken a second suspect into custody in connection with a January shooting involving three juveniles.
Online records from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center state 19-year-old Zoe Kefalas, of Myrtle Beach, was booked April 1 on three counts of attempted murder. She was released the same day on a $30,000 charge.
Officials with the Horry County Police Department previously said officers responded to the area of Loyola Drive just before midnight on Jan. 29 for a report of a shooting. Police said they found a victim at the scene, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to arrest warrants, Kefalas acted “in concert with her co-defendant to attempt to kill three juvenile victims with malice aforethought.”
Previously, 27-year-old William Kirkman, of Myrtle Beach, was arrested in connection with the shooting and charged with three counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The warrants state the suspects waited on the victims to leave a residence on Ashwood Lane. Kefalas then reportedly blocked the roadway with her vehicle at the intersection of Ashwood Lane and Willow Ridge Road while the co-defendant fired several shots at the juveniles, striking the rear of their vehicle..
According to the arrest warrants, one of the juveniles owed Kefalas a sum of money.
