LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - A man has now been arrested after officials say he robbed a Dollar General in Pelion on January 11.
According to the Pelion Police Department, a Black man wearing a camo stocking cap, camp face mask, blue jacket, and blue jeans. During the incident, a store clerk suffered minor injuries. Officials say the man left the store in a white Honda Accord.
The suspect was later identified as LaGeorge Jackson.
On January 16, the Chester County Sheriff’s Office tried to stop Jackson in a stolen vehicle. Jackson did not stop and officers gave chase. The chase ultimately ended in a crash and Jackson was taken into custody. He was treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital.
Currently, Jackson is being held at the Chester County Detention Center. He has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, failure to stop for blue lights, driving under the influence, and several other traffic charges.
Officials with the Pelion Police Department say Jackson is also a person of interest in several other similar robberies in the Greater Columbia area.
