WASHINGTON, D.C. (WCSC) - U.S. House Representative Nancy Mace signed a letter to President-Elect Joe Biden calling for the halting of impeachment efforts against President Donald Trump.

The letter asks Biden to formally request Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to discontinue her efforts to impeach the President a second time.

Nancy Mace sent Live 5 News the following statement about her signature on the letter:

“I’m absolutely determined to bring the tone of rhetoric and division down in Congress. A hopeless, partisan push to remove the President as the clock winds down doesn’t accomplish that at all. If there’s anything I can do to work with President-elect Biden to help this country move on and move forward, I’m going to do it.”

Colorado Congressman Ken Buck tweeted a copy of the letter, which he also signed, Saturday evening.

Nancy Mace serves as the U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s 1st congressional district, which represents the area along the coast from Charleston to Hilton Head Island.
