Sumter man facing additional murder charge in connection with November shooting

SUMTER, S.C. (WIS) - A Sumter man who shot and killed three people in November is now facing an additional murder charge.

Eugene Martin, 27, is now being charged with four counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder. He has also been charged with 1st-degree burglary, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and malicious injury to property.

The new murder charge is the result of the death of an infant, Myles Marcus Davis, who was delivered early when his mother was critically injured in a shooting inside a Marilyn Avenue home.

Raymond Davis, 61, and his sons Randy Davis, 36, and Marcus Davis, 32, were killed in that shooting.

The mother of the infant, Myra Davis, 21, survived the shooting and is continuing to recover. Two other people were in the home at the time of the shooting but were not injured.

Martin was taken into custody hours following the late-night incident and is being housed at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
