Dominion Energy to test emergency sirens for VC Summer Nuclear Station at 1 p.m.
Dominion Energy will test emergency sirens at the V.C. Summer nuclear facility on Tuesday at 1 p.m.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - On Tuesday at 1 p.m., Dominion Energy will conduct quarterly testing of the Early Warning Siren System at the V.C. Summer nuclear facility.

The test will sound 109 sirens that are within a 10-mile radius of the V.C. Summer facility.

The sirens can be heard in Fairfield, Newberry, Richland, and Lexington counties for less than one minute as part of the quarterly test.

Should there be an actual emergency, the sirens will sound without a prior warning and residents would be alerted to tune to an Emergency Alert System radio or television station for further instructions.
