Bond denied for man accused in 3 armed robberies on Thurs.; two juveniles also charged
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A judge has denied bond for a man, who along with two juveniles, is accused of committing three armed robberies on Thursday afternoon in North Charleston.
The North Charleston Police Department arrested 20-year-old Dajuan Skyy Ceasar who is charged with three counts of possession of a firearm during a violent crime and two counts of first-degree assault and battery.
Ceasar and the two juveniles also each face three counts of armed robbery.
On Thursday afternoon, police say they responded to three separate armed robbery calls, each of which involved three people and a similar vehicle description.
“At approximately 5:27 pm, while patrolling Ashley Phosphate Road, a NCPD officer observed a vehicle matching the description and stopped the vehicle,” NCPD officials said. “Three occupants were detained after evidence from the robberies was located. “
Ceasar was booked at the Al Cannon Detention Center and was denied bond at a hearing Friday. The juveniles were transported to the Charleston County Juvenile Detention Center.
The first armed robbery happened on Sumner Avenue between 3:41 p.m. and 3:51 p.m.
The victim said he was walking into a mobile home park when three people got out of a van with one of them armed with a handgun and demanding everything he had. A report states the suspects stole the victim’s pocket change and struck him in the mouth with the pistol before they fled the area in a van.
The victim was transported to Trident Emergency Room, and was able to provide investigators a description of the suspects’ van.
The second armed robbery happened between 4:05 p.m. and 4:06 p.m. on Railroad Avenue and Dalton Street. The victim said two male subjects jumped out of a van with one of them pointing a gun and shoving it into his chest.
According to the victim, the second suspect then went through his pockets, taking a cell phone and cash. The suspects then fled in their vehicle.
The third armed robbery happened between 4:47 p.m. and 4:57 p.m. on Piedmont Avenue.
The victim said two male subjects wearing black clothing approached him and took out a gun. The suspects then stole the victims cell phone, cash and a check before fleeing the area, according to investigators.
