SCEMD: 2.4 magnitude earthquake reported in the Midlands

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina Emergency Management Division has reported that an earthquake occurred in the Midlands yesterday evening.

SCEMD tweeted shortly before 6:30 a.m. that a 2.4 magnitude earthquake did occur around 8:37 p.m. Friday night.

It is unclear if the earthquake is related to the loud boom heard by many residents last night.
