COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Tickets for high school basketball games played at Richland One schools will now be limited.

According to Richland One athletics director Robert Matz, student-athletes will be given two tickets per game for family members to attend games. Once tickets for parents have been allotted, there will be a limited number of tickets that will be sold for general admission.

“We saw the numbers continue to increase,” Matz said, “and in basketball with cheerleaders and all of the yelling and all that, we felt that it was a good time to make that decision. Of course, we’ll revisit it after the break in January to see where we’re at.”

Matz said district officials began discussing the decision on Monday but made the announcement Tuesday.
